Active Distribution Network (Smart Grids)

Today’s distribution networks are designed to meet peak loads and service individual end-users. Active distribution network concepts are capable of real-time monitoring of the whole grid, promotes a wider sharing of resources and distributes the energy to where its most needed. It may integrate objects such as electric vehicles, charging for a set amount of time, to use as an energy source during peak hours. Planning correctly, the vehicle will once again be fully charged for the predicted time of usage.
