New Multi-Sensor Optical Smoke & Heat Alarm

With the addition of solar and energy storage systems in new homes, GL have developed a multi-sensor optical smoke and heat alarm.

Share

GL have been supplying alarms to housebuilders for well over a decade including mains powered optical smoke alarms, mains powered heat alarms and carbon monoxide monitors.

Now however, with the addition of solar and energy storage systems in new homes, we’ve developed a multi-sensor optical smoke and heat alarm to provide optimum safety in homes.

So often, lofts are the ideal and sometimes only viable place to install solar and battery storage systems, becoming the home’s plant room. However, with this being the case, it is of paramount importance that people’s safety is taken into consideration to reduce any risk to the homeowner.

Easy, regular access to the loft is not always the case for many homeowners but, coupled with a hard wired alarm control switch non-reliant on AA batteries, occupants can simply test the multi-sensor alarm without having to enter the loft itself.

The alarm control switch has the additional benefit of being hard wired onto the home’s existing smoke and heat alarm circuit – allowing the homeowner to test, locate and silence all alarms.

Other benefits of the multi-sensor alarm include:
Combines photoelectric and thermistor technology – reducing the chance of false triggering caused by dust and debris when installed in the loft
Automatic shutdown function – if the alarm is triggered the inverter and battery will automatically shutdown
Removable dust cover – preventing alarms from becoming contaminated during construction

Our mains powered alarm control switch benefits include:
Mains powered, not reliant on 2 AA batteries
Test, locate and silence functions
Interlinked to all optical smoke, heat and multi-sensor alarms in the plot
Unobtrusive design
Our entire range of smoke and heat detection alarms also meet all relevant building regulations and are fully compliant with relevant British standards.

The multi-sensor alarm is due to be released in early 2024.
