Started in 1989 converting old jute mills locally in Dundee, and slowly moved forward to building new houses in and around Dundee.We continued developing many sites locally until 2014. At this time we made a fundamental decision to change the way we constructed houses. Like many in the industry we felt the waste was too much, and so we started on the journey to fully manufacture houses of site. Many timber house manufacturers supply standard timber frame houses.We take a different approach, similar to the European house manufacturer we manufacture the whole house off site, which includes roof tiles, plumbing, wiring. We also like many other people think about the environment and now use as many products as possible that are recyclable, Steico now being a big part of how we construct our houses.
