Jim Glockling, Independent Consultant, Glockling Consulting (former Director of Fire Protection Association and RISC Authority)
Jim began his career at the Atomic Energy Authority, Harwell as a sandwich student. AEA later re-employed Jim and sponsored his PhD to further develop his career. Jim went on to undertake a post-doctorate study at the Fire Research Station and worked at South Bank University London as a lecturer in chemical and fire safety engineering. For the last 20 years, Jim has been at the Fire Protection Association where he has led research into fire protection, with particular emphasis on risk avoidance, reduction and management. He is now an independent consultant.
