How will the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard revolutionise the UK Built Environment? – curated by UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard

Whilst significant progress has been made in defining what ‘net zero’ means for the country’s buildings, the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard will take the next step and enable industry to robustly prove their built assets are net zero carbon and in line with our nation’s climate targets. The Standard’s development is being led by industry organisations BBP, BRE, the Carbon Trust, CIBSE, IStructE, LETI, RIBA, RICS, and UKGBC, with the help of nearly 300 volunteers from across the industry.

This session will discuss the overarching aims of the standard and how it responds to the needs of the industry. The panellists will discuss what the standard will do, and future-gazing as to how they hope that it will change the built environment in the UK and abroad.

Speakers:

Will Arnold, Head of Climate Action, IStructE
Tom Wigg, Senior Advisor – Net Zero Carbon Buildings, UKGBC
Duncan Cox, Associate Sustainability Director, Thornton Tomasetti
